NCC Stops MTN Aeroplane Advert


Communications Commission (NCC) has stopped the aeroplane advert being run by Nigeria telecom giant MTN..According to the Director ,Public Affairs of NCC Mr Tony Ojobo while speaking on a televison breakfast show (Sunrise Daily) on Channels Television monitored in Lagos this morning said the regulatory stopped MTN from running the adverts because it was against it..He said the marketing gimmicks was unacceptable to NCC and MTN was asked to stop the advert forthwith which they have complied with..The said advert asked subscribers to recharge up to N200 and in return get a brand new aeroplane or its equivalent in cash.
He also said that everything has been put in place by NCC to commence the number portablity from the fist quarter of next year..According to him,all the machinery have been installed and numbers being verified and sincronized for effective take off of the scheme..Number portability would enable consumers to switch their network at any time without losing their numbers
